Lauren Giddings Case To Get National Media Attention On Fox

The Lauren Giddings story begins on June 30, when someone found her torso in a trash can in front of her apartment complex.

Since then the Macon Georgia police department has been working to gather evidence and find her killer.  They do not have a suspect at this time, but they do have a person of interest.  Her next door neighbor, Stephen McDaniels.  McDaniels is currently locked up in the Bibb county jail in Macon on unrelated burglary charges with no bond.

But up until now, it has not been a case known to all like the Caylee story was.  But today it will gain some more national attention. The Lauren Giddings story is to be featured on a Fox program called “Justice with Judge Jeanine”.  Host of the show, Jeanine Pirro, plans on running the story throughout her show this evening.

According to reports at Macon.com, the staff from the show did some filming last night in front of Giddings apartment complex, directly across the street from Mercer University where Giddings was a law student. Pirro interviewed the police chief and a reporter from the Telegraph via satellite last night as well.

“Justice” marks the first national TV show to come to Macon to cover the Giddings investigation. Burns said NBC’s “Dateline” news program contacted him a couple of weeks ago about the investigation, but that show’s staff hasn’t visited Macon. Burns was also interviewed about the Giddings slaying by The Washington Post. — macon.com (Read the macon.com story)

Macon police chief says that even though they will be put in a national spotlight, they are still going to be “slow and methodical” also noting that they have solved 36 of their 39 homicides.

For those interested in catching the story tonight, it will air at 9 PM eastern time on Fox News Channel.  Check you local listings for channel and times outside of the eastern time zone.
