Casey Anthony Found Not Guilty On Murder Charges
This is definitely not the post I expected to be posting when we heard there was a verdict in. However, I can only say that I have to respect the jury’s decision, even if I don’t personally agree with it.
I know that many others out there feel the same way. We don’t take into consideration is a couple things. First, a jury finding Casey Anthony Not Guilty does not necessarily mean that she is Innocent. There is a difference between Innocent and Not Guilty. The jury may not like Casey, may think that it’s possible she was involved in the death of Caylee, but it wasn’t enough beyond a reasonable doubt, which is what they are expected to use when giving a verdict as dictated by law. Secondly, we as outsiders were privy to all of the evidence released by the state. We followed the case from the day Caylee was reported as missing. We were there for every twist and turn. The jury was not. They were only given certain pieces of evidence. Evidence that they had to use to determine the guilt or not guilt of the defendant.
The verdicts are as follows:
- First Degree Murder (Defendant faces the death penalty) – Not Guilty
- Aggravated Child Abuse – Not Guilty
- Aggravated Manslaughter – Not Guilty
- False Information to a Law Enforcement Officer – Guilty – Up to 1 year imprisonment
- False Information to a Law Enforcement Officer – Guilty – Up to 1 year imprisonment
- False Information to a Law Enforcement Officer – Guilty – Up to 1 year imprisonment
- False Information to a Law Enforcement Officer – Guilty – Up to 1 year imprisonment
