The streets were lined with several thousand American flags along the route of 21 year old Airman 1st Class Zachary Ryan Cuddeback’s arrival as hundreds of patriots stood silent. His arrival wasn’t a joyous homecoming, but a heart breaking loss. Cuddeback was Airman First Class in the United States Air Force who died, along with another Airman, after an Albanian man described as a Muslim extremist fired shots at the servicemen in a bus.
During the funeral service thousands of O’Fallon citizens lined the route to honor Airman Cuddeback. Some holding signs, some holding flags, some soluting, a community honoring their fallen hero.
